I was wondering where you went! Welcome back! :D I've also switched back to a Hobonichi Weeks (Shihai Sumire) with a clear cover, and I remember why I stayed in the Weeks for as long as I did. I love its simplicity while still staying functional! It's also slim so it fits easily in my sling bag. And I know what you mean about planner hopping- the adventurous side of me wants to try out a new planner/system (looking at you Take A Note), but being back in the Weeks just feels like home~ For next year, I do intend to switch to the Weeks Mega for the extra pages. I do miss the more creative daily page spreads from my Traveler's Passport, which is probably why I'm itching to try other planners xD TLDR: Welcome back, Lindsey! I hope you get that structure and safe/home-feeling with being back in your Hobonichi Weeks! :)

I swear by page flags for chores, especially weekly/monthly! They are so handy and add a bit of color to a bland task list (for me) :)

Even though I've been in rings all year, the Hobo Weeks will forever be my fave. So simple and functional and fun!

I resonate with you so much at the beginning of this video. I’m feeling a sense of constant unrest with my system and nothing seems to satisfy me. So I took a step back for a week, and I felt even more out of control. I still don’t know what will feel satisfying, but my Hobonichi Weeks is my default fail-safe.

JSYK, you are such an inspiration to me: because of you, I now: 1) primarily use a VP <EF>, --mine's a Decimo and 2) split my July A6 TNs into Annual (A)+ Bujo (B) + maybe Commonplace or external ongoing Timeline(C). I just love your portable, compact & inviting journals. I'll be joining you on Team One-System-July (never could do less than 2 books). Hope that the above A6 talk wasn't triggering. I actually have my 2024 Hobo Weeks Mega on stand-by just in case I lose it during the month. Have fun on your vacay!

Thanks for sharing your journey with planners. I must say you have beautiful handwriting. And I love the aesthetic of your layouts. Mine just look like scribbles most days. You motivate me to be neater! TFS!

Definitely, the most portable planner format to carry everywhere is the pocket size, and the best material, if you can afford it, is leather. Although it's hard to find vintage models, I always prefer Etsy over eBay for quality, guarantee if something goes wrong, and speed. Thanks for sharing.

I think this is a great challenge to set for yourself! It is fun to try all the things but not at the expense of your productivity and peace of mind. I hope this RESET will allow you to find some consistency that makes you happy but you also allow yourself your creative outlets when you need it!

I love TN, I use it as jounal for my trips, together with all the insers is simply the best I found

I just love the Midori MD paper it is by far my favorite. But the Leuchtturm paper is really really nice and I just love LT for bullet journaling. I love that they have more pages, they are totally self contained, they have the hard cover, the labels, and pocket. Even tho I like the MD paper I also do not dislike the LT paper and the notebooks LT makes are so much more all-in-one I always bullet journal in them

I love the idea of rings and being so organized but my brain doesn’t work with anything complicated So I basically do the og bullet journal method lol

The TN Weekly Memo insert, which is set up like the Hobonichi Weeks, might be a better fit than the TN vertical as you can use right side of page for thoughts and ephemera.

I love your inserts so so much, and would definitely use the blank monthly calendar in addition to the grid version you already released, as well as the workout long and all your perpetual calendars! Do you have suggestions for cutting inserts for Plotter-size rings?

Yes, you're correct on the Kokuyo letter size not being fountain pen-friendly! Because it's an American size, it's optimized for the US market (meaning not fountain pen users), much like the Moleskine paper!. All the other sizes (A5, A4, A3, etc.) are fountain pen-friendly. I've used and tested them for a couple years now! :)

For me, having only one system is working great. I use Hobonichi weeks (in fact, the Kinbor version) for planning and the blank pages for commonplacing. And for the dailies, I made my own daily inserts. The two are inside a TN Hobonichi weeks size. It works!!!

What printer do you use/like/recommend???

I have yet to explore pocket rings... I'm in personal for my main and mini for on the go. Could pocket replace them both, she wonders?? Lovely video as always. ✨

Lindseyscribbles + Hobonichi is one of my favorite combos! Plus, just think of all of the years of them you've filled and collected. A library of your life! But obvi we are all allowed to change. Congrats being post move. I hope you love it.

Glad to see you again! I've been wanting to let you know Take-A-Note makes a blank bound, Bible size (personal), fountain pen friendly, lay flat, grid notebook. I know how much you usually enjoy personal size and I haven't found too many bound books in that size! It's been great as a bullet journal for me so far!
